Dear Mary,
I have been living in Beijing for some time now and I find it very interesting here.
There are so many similarities between Beijing and London. They are both the capital of the country and are both very important cities. Both places have huge populations. They are both the economical, political and cultural center. They both have many historical and cultrual
I also found many differences in the two cities. In London we drive on the left side of the road, while in Beijing they drive on the right side. Most people in London go to work via public transportation, here in Beijing most people rides bycicles. In London the weather is always cloudy, here in Beijing most the the time it's sunny. And in London most student don't spend their time efficiently, but here in Beijing many people speak English cause they study hard.

Nowadays a growing number of people, especially the 20s or 30s, tend to stay indoors for most of their spare time, especially on holidays. Some spend the majority of the time online chatting, blogging, shopping, dating or playing computer games. Some sit with their eyes glued to the television screen, day and night.

People's opinions vary when it comes to this way of killing time. A great number of people maintain that staying indoors is cheap, comfortable, and most importantly, very safe. Others, however, frown upon staying indoors for too long. They are worried that lack of physical exercise and face-to-face communication with others will do harm to people’s body and mind.

Personally, I don't think staying indoors for most of the day should be advocated. Instead, people in all ages, their physical conditions permitting, should be encouraged to spend more time outdoors. The brilliant sunshine, the pleasant green space, the interactions with other people, etc. are all good for people's health, both physically and psychologically.

recognizing its importance is only the fist step to advocate invetion or innovation, and some effective measures should be taken for it. for one thing, our authority should continue to enlarge the recruit of graduate. for another, the conditions of scientists and skilled workers should be further improved. only in this way, can the soul of our nation be fully embodied and our nation have a brighter future.
